Program Mission Discovery Club's mission is to provide out-of-school time child care in a safe, fun, caring environment that supports children's learning and development.
Children participate in a variety of academic enrichment, recreational and cultural activities that informally support learning and social development. Life and social skills, such as cooperation, teamwork, and problem solving are fostered in a caring and accepting environment. Additionally, Discovery Club staff connect with school-day teachers to better support children's learning, including scheduled homework times.
Well trained staff enjoy, respect and build relationships with children and families in Discovery Club. Many work at Discovery Club for several years, building strong bonds with children. All staff must meet high qualifications and receive frequent, on-going training.
Discovery Club is a non-profit, funded by parent fees, and administered by the Community Education Department of Saint Paul Public Schools. What are Discovery club Hubs? (click image to enlarge) Any student enrolled at a non-DC school within the same district area may apply to hub sites.
