GRASP Summer Program

The Grand Rapids Academic Summer Program (GRASP) provides your child with an academic bridge between school years, and SPPS Community Education is bringing this program to elementary students this summer.

GRASP is a learning option for students to complete at home on their own schedule. It is a nine-week correspondence program designed to help students exiting grades K-8 maintain and enhance their reading and/or math levels during the summer months by providing review exercises. This is not a substitute for school district summer academics.

Students who register for the program will receive a grade level workbook in the mail shortly before the school year ends.  The workbook contains 9 weekly lessons that will take about one hour a week to complete.  Students complete lessons at home and mail, fax or e-mail them weekly to the Rondo Community Education Office scoring center, where they are corrected and returned for your review.  More information on returning your score sheets will be included in your workbook packet.

To review and maintain the skills learned during the school year, we advise that you order the grade level that your child is completing. Sample workbook pages are available to view via the link below.

Students who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate of completion; students who complete all nine weeks with a score of 70% or more will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 Community Ed Gift Certificate!

$34 for one subject or $54 for both reading and math.

Community Education offers a 15% scholarship for students who receive free or reduced lunch at school.

Register online or by phone at 651-487-7383

Registration deadline for this program is Monday, April 28.
