Class Descriptions
Swimming is an important and lifelong skill but it takes years to master.
Students will take the same class multiple times in order to perfect the skills in their current level before moving on to the next level. The goal is not to pass the class, but to be a good swimmer in the level you are at. All classes include safety topics, swimming skills, and endurance skills.
Students will receive an achievement card on the last day of class indicating which skills they have completed and which skills they still need to practice. It will also indicate whether or not the student is ready to move on to the next level.
If you do not know what level to enroll your child in, please talk to the child's instructor or call the Community Education office. If students are enrolled in the incorrect level, they will be moved to the correct level only if space is available.
