Child Care Assistant
Child Care Assistants build relationships with students, lead children through the plan of the day, give support to children with special needs, and are responsible for guiding positive behavior with students.
- Hourly wage - $18/hour
- Hiring consistent Monday-Friday schedules only
- Hours 1:30-5:30pm
- Sub positions are available for those with varied schedules
Discovery Club is looking to hire assistant positions for next fall. These positions would being with Discovery Club programming in the summer and transition into a consistent afterschool position for the 2025-2026 school year. Both the summer and fall schedules would be a consistent Monday through Friday shift. Staff who are applying for a consistent position must be able to commit to a Monday through Friday schedule for both the school year and summer. If unable to commit to a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, there are a select number of substitute positions available. Please reach out to alex.hennessey@spps.org with any questions.
Group Leaders
Group Leaders are responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities for Pre K-5th grade students, building relationships with students, guiding behavior, and giving work direction to part-time staff. This is an Educational Assistant position, 32.5 hour/week, split shift before and after school, that is contracted and benefits eligible.

Site Supervisor
Site Supervisors are responsible for the day-to-day coordination and operation of a Discovery Club site. Provides supervision and coaching to educational and teaching assistants and hourly staff working at Discovery Club. Work effectively with and develop relationships with children and families in program. 40 hour/week, that is contracted and benefits eligible.
